CITY OF CHESAPEAKE CARE APP PRIVACY POLICY

The City of Chesapeake ("City") respects the privacy of the users of its CARE App. The CARE app is provided to allow users to request City services via mobile devices including (but not necessarily limited to) smartphones running Android or iOS operating systems.

This privacy policy is to inform users of the City of Chesapeake CARE app of its data gathering methods and use of such data. The City reserves the right to make changes to this policy at any time at its sole discretion and without notice.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the application which may also collect and use data about you. The City is not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.

Links to third party web sites or services available through the City's CARE app are provided solely as a convenience to you. If you use these links or services, you will leave the City's site. The City has not reviewed all of these third party sites and does not control or is not responsible for any of these sites, their content or their privacy policy. Thus, the City does not endorse or make any representations about them, or any information, software or products or materials found there. If you decide to access any of the third party sites linked to this site, you do so at your own risk.

COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION

When you use the City CARE app, the following information will be captured:

The primary reason for requesting information about you is to provide City workers with a contact point in the event further information or clarification of submitted service request information is needed to fulfill a service request.

The City of Chesapeake's CARE app does not sell or lease personal information. Information submitted to the CARE app may be subject to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), found at§ 2.2-3700 et seq. of the Code of Virginia.

The CARE app may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information collected by the CARE app depends on the content and materials you use and includes geographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name, phone number, physical and email addresses) that you voluntarily give input when choosing to participate in services related to the CARE app. The request of information, storage of that information and the dissemination of that information will vary based on the service(s) requested. In each instance, clear indications of whether or not the information is required or optional will be marked. Please be advised that all images/photographs you disclose may be used and/or reproduced for use in reports, publications, etc. at the City's discretion.

The City of Chesapeake's CARE app may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate governmental authorities. We reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.
